Hastle to remove fake number

My girlfriend's phone number was used as a fake number by some guy who was clearly attempting to avoid his debts. It took multiple calls to NCO - including several requests to remove the number and a threat by my attorney who, I swear, is one of the top in New York - before NCO would stop calling. Be prepared to bounce around department phone lines as well as this is a favoured tactic by this company to frustrate you and get you to stop calling them (ironic, no?). It will take you anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get them to back down so be patient. Also be polite, as many of these guys don't give a *** about your situation so don't come out with harsh threats as they'll simply disconnect the line.
